Knowledge Base Article: Understanding the Audience Overview in the Platform
This article explains how to navigate and understand the Audience Overview screen in the platform. The Audience Overview screen is essential for managing your audience lists and segments, as well as tracking email deliverability and engagement metrics.
On this screen, you will see all audiences in Experiture -- one per row. This list can be searched, sorted and filtered.
Understanding this layout will help you effectively manage your audiences and optimize your campaigns.
Screen Layout Breakdown:
1. Top Menu:
Audience: This is the current tab, where you manage audience lists and segments.
All Targets: Allows access to all audience targets.
Subscriptions: Manage audience subscription preferences.
Data Model: Configure the structure of your audience data.
2. Create Audience Button:
Click this button to create a new audience list or segment.
3. Audience Filters:
All: Displays all available audiences.
List: Filters for static audience lists.
Connection: Filters for dynamic audience connections.
Segment: Displays audience segments.
Inbound: Filters for inbound audiences created from integrations or imported data.
4. Audience Table:
Each row in the audience table represents a unique audience list or segment. The following columns provide key metrics:
Row No: Numbered index of the audience.
Name: The name of the audience list or segment.
Campaigns: Shows how many campaigns the audience is part of. Click to view associated campaigns.
Audience Type: Indicates whether the audience is a "List" (derived from a file that has been uploaded) or a "Segment" created from exiating Targets.
Type: Defines how the audience was created, such as through a file import or static setup.
Record Count: Displays the total number of audience records.
Valid Emails: The number of valid emails in the audience list.
Invalid/Unavailable: Count of invalid or unavailable email addresses.
Deliverable: The number of deliverable emails.
Bounces: Displays the count of bounced emails.
Unsubscribe: Shows the number of unsubscribed contacts.
Deliverable SMS: Number of deliverable SMS records.
Deliverable Push Notifications: Number of deliverable push notification records.
Modified Date: The last date the audience was modified.
5. Search & Refresh Options:
Search: Use the search bar to find a specific audience by name.
Refresh: Refreshes the audience table to show the latest information.
Settings (Gear Icon): Customize the table display or modify settings.
Key Use Cases for this Screen:
Track Email Deliverability: Check the deliverability rate of emails by comparing the "Valid Emails" and "Deliverable" columns.
Manage Segments: View specific segments by using the "Segment" filter. Each segment is dynamically updated based on criteria you set.
Campaign Assignment: Easily identify which campaigns are using a particular audience by viewing the "Campaigns" column.
Audience Options
Alongside each audience there are several options:
1) Select "Add to Campaign" ("plus" icon) to add the selected audience to a Campaign. On this next screen, you will have the option to find a campaign and either append the selcted audience immediately, or schedule a future time to add them.
2) Select the "Append Audience" option to add new Targets to this audience by uploading a file. When you select this, you will be brought to a Wizard-style interface that will guide you through uploading your list and mapping fields within Experiture.
